Author Guide

Thank you for considering submission to one of the journals of the American Geophysical Union. This guide will provide you with information on the requirements for submission and approval of journal articles. Following the guidelines below will help to expedite processing and, once accepted, the publication of your article. All authors are expected to uphold AGU’s ethical guidelines.

This Author Guide provides general information to help authors format and submit the best possible papers and accompanying materials to AGU for publication in our journals, as well as journal-specific information. The guide is broken into several main areas:

Steps to publication. A general guide to submission and the peer review process at AGU, as well as the responsibilities of authors, editors and AGU. See Submission and Review.

Text requirements. Information on how to format your main text, tables, and supporting information.

Graphics requirements. Information on how to format figures, videos, and other multimedia submissions. Also see the Figure FAQ.
